Expresso Yourself – Official Speech Event Rules
Event Overview:
“Expresso Yourself” is an inclusive speech event encouraging participants to express themselves on a wide range of topics, share their stories, and inspire others. The event fosters respect, creativity, and open dialogue.
Eligibility:
Open to participants of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
Participants must register prior to the event, providing necessary details including their speech topic or title.
Minors (under 18) are not eligible to participate.
Speech Guidelines:
Topic: Participants are free to choose any topic, but speeches must align with the event’s inclusive and respectful values.
Length: Speeches must be between 13 to 15 minutes long.
Content:
- No offensive, discriminatory, or hateful language will be tolerated.
- No explicit content, including graphic violence or inappropriate sexual themes.
- No political and religious content.
- Originality: Speeches must be original.
Code of Conduct:
All participants and audience members are expected to act respectfully toward others.
Disruptive behavior, heckling, or harassment of any kind will result in removal from the event.
Participants must arrive at least 30 minutes before the event to confirm registration and receive final instructions.
Event Logistics:
Venue: The event will be held at Jarrod’s Coffee, Tea, & Gallery: 109 W University Dr, Mesa, AZ 85201
Date & Time: The event will take place the fourth Sunday of the month from noon until 2:00 PM
Miscellaneous:
Participants may be photographed or filmed during the event for promotional purposes.
